1/28 Assignments

Course 2: Lesson 3B: Area and Perimeter of Similar Figures


Below you will find a copy of today's notes from class. We worked many problems together. Each student had 2-3 problems to work on their own. Homework: Pg 301 #1-10 all



Pre-Algebra: 6-8 Dilations


This is a fun, geometric lesson! We used graph paper to draw figures and their image based on a given scale factor.  Below you will find the copy of the notes taken n class. Homework: Pg 314 #5-14 all


There have been many, many students out with illness these past couple weeks. Please let me know if you have missed a lesson and need help with anything! I have copies of many notes from the last week; I am happy to share them.

Tomorrow, we are working on reviewing the entire chapter to prepare for our test on Thursday. I am going to try to figure out a way to post the chapter reviews tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Happy Friday! How about some Extra Credit?

I'm so excited about Friday that I decided to give you all another chance for some extra credit. Remember to answer, just email or Facebook me the answer. You can also bring it on paper to class!

A certain number of passengers board a cruise ship in Miami.  When the ship reaches Jamaica,  of the passengers leave the ship and 40 new passengers board.  At the Bahamas port,  of the passengers leave and 52 new ones board.  When the ship reaches Bermuda,  leave and 35 board.  There are now 163 passengers on board the ship.  How many passengers began the cruise in Miami?

Extra Credit Problem!

Course 2: Explain (in sentences) what makes two quantities proportional and give a real world example.

Pre-Algebra: A 96-ounce container of orange juice costs $4.80. At what price should a 128-ounce container be sold in order for the unit rate for both containers to be the same? Explain your reasoning.
